This is a batch of connected writ petitions filed by employees of the Department of Mines and Geology, Government of Rajasthan, challenging disciplinary proceedings initiated against them. The petitioners, who are officers at various levels (Mining Engineers, Assistant Mining Engineers, etc.), challenged charge-sheets issued between 2015 and 2019 arising from the same incident of 1996, along with a joint inquiry order dated 03.06.2025 and associated notices under Rule 18 of the Rajasthan Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1958. Several petitioners have already superannuated from service. A coordinate bench of the Rajasthan High Court had earlier granted an interim stay on 21.07.2025 of the proceedings initiated pursuant to the charge-sheet dated 28.06.2019. The petitions were heard together and decided by a common order as the issues and the underlying incident were identical across all cases.
