Jaykishan Kalabhai Parmar filed a regular bail application before the Gujarat High Court under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, after being arrested on 09.04.2026 in connection with an FIR registered at Thasra Police Station, District Kheda, for offences under the Prohibition Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The applicant's counsel argued that he was falsely implicated, the investigation was complete, and nothing remained to be recovered. The State opposed bail citing the nature and gravity of the offences. The Court, considering that the chargesheet had been filed, no offence carried a life sentence or death penalty, co-accused had been granted bail on parity, and prolonged pre-trial detention amounts to pre-trial conviction, held that bail was warranted. The Court allowed the application and ordered the applicant's release on a personal bond of Rs. 25,000 with one surety, subject to several conditions including restrictions on entering Districts Kheda and Mahisagar for six months.
